Margaret Edith  Demaris Brown  Gill
Mrs. Margaret Edith Demaris Brown Gill, age 88 of Brodnax, departed this life on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Margaret was the youngest of six children born to Jefferson Orr and Minerva Demaris Brown and was the widow of Charles Melvin Gill. She is survived by children, Charles William “Billy” Gill of Brodnax and Cynthia G. Smith (Thomas) of Powhatan; four grandchildren, Charles Jason Gill, Jonathan William Gill, Christy Smith Urban (Michael),Thomas Carter Smith (Kristine) and four great grandchildren, Kennedy Demaris Urban, Sydney Marie Urban, Charlotte Ashby Smith, and Thomas Edward Smith. Also left to cherish her memory are a brother in law, Carter Threet Gill (Dena), of Troutville and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her faithful fur babies, Maggie and Suzy.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid Virginia Tech fan. If VT was not playing, then her allegiance went to Virginia or Carolina.

She retired from Kenston Forest School. While there she was a friend and mentor to many students.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday, April 5th at Crestview Memorial Park in LaCrosse, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 – 1:45pm at Farrar Funeral Home in South Hill.
