Elaine Tucker Hazelwood died peacefully on October 10, 2017. Elaine, “E” as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry N. Hazelwood. Surviving is her only daughter, Susan H. Buffington of Glen Allen, Virginia. Other survivors include two brothers, Durwood Tucker and Arnold G. Tucker; special nieces, nephews and neighbors who considered her a surrogate mother/grandmother, specifically Gary and Beverly Tucker and their daughters, Tiffany, Kaitlyn (Mitch) and Madison. She touched the lives of countless children and adults with her steadfast love and compassion. E always put the needs of others before her own. With a “little glass bottle Coca Cola” on the screen porch, she doled out life lessons without judgment. E lived the last years of her life at The Laurels of University Park in Richmond. A special thank you to those at The Laurels that saw her as the exceptional woman that she was and treated her as such.

Funeral services will be on Friday, October 13 at 2pm at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from noon to 2:00 before the service at the funeral home.
