Obituary for Eric "Rick" Todd Carter

With a broken heart, I announce the passing of my husband of more than 30 years, Eric “Rick” T. Carter, 65 of Brodnax, VA (formerly Fredericksburg, VA) on September 14, 2018 at our home.
Every time you hear thunder, think of Rick Carter. He will be firing up his Harley riding thru heaven with his braid, beard and knees in the breeze. He will be visiting his Dad, R. Lee and his Mother, Martha. His son Chad Lee, brothers Bobby, wife Nancy, Dwight, wife Bonnie, and youngest of the Carter brothers, Jeff, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews are here to celebrate his life. His companion in riding and love of his life, wife Athena was with him on his final ride, along with his furry friends Jeb, Ruby and Biscuit.
His 35 years with the National Park Service, in Fredericksburg, led to his passion for all things related to the Civil War. Rick could be found in his garage tinkering with his Model A, listening to Classic Rock, and searching the internet for parts. If you spent time with Rick, you knew his quiet demeanor hid his delightful sense of humor. He was a loyal friend available to help at a moments notice. His love of the outdoors was only surpassed by his “did you know” facts about nature.

A Celebration of life will be held on October 13, 2018 from 4-7pm at Bowman Center, 3300 Bourbon Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. Please R.S.V.P. to (540) 207-8259 by October 6, 2018. Blue Jeans/Casual Dress/No Suites/No Ties
Farrar Funeral Home in South Hill, VA is serving the family. On line condolences may be left at farrarfuneralhome.net.
