Mrs. Peggie Sue Solomon Barker, age 78 of South Hill, died Sunday, March 10, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Jamie Aubrey Barker of the home; a daughter, Karen B. Harris (Mike) of South Hill; her twin sister, Lynda S Crafton (Coy) of Radford, VA; half sister, Betty Bishop of South Hill and step brother, Douglas Solomon of TN. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Dustin Tanner, Johnathan R Bass, April Harris, Jarrett Allen Barker, and Savanna Barker Slayton and great grandchild, Jacob A. Barker. Also surviving is her loving canine companion, “Sweet Pea.” The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Rachel Hayes for her dedication and care given to the Barker family. Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her children, Eva “Bunny” Barker Bass and Joel Aubrey Barker and half brother, David Solomon.

Peggie loved giving to others and for 8 years she was the Activity Director for the W. S. Hundley Annex. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was the past president of the WMU, a Sunday School Teacher and worked closely with the local chapter of the AARP.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, March 12 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of service.
