Mr. James Barner Rogers, age 84 of Brodnax, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth "Blair" R. Dabney (Welton) of Petersburg; grandchildren, Christopher Broughton Jarvis of Prince George and Amanda G. Brehmer of Michigan, and one great-grandchild Ariyah Brehmer. Also surviving is a brother, Wayne (Joyce) Rogers of Brodnax. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Ezell Rogers.

Barner was an U S Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, a member of American Legion Post #284,and a member of Woodman of the World, He was also a member for more than 50 years at Sanford Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Secretary.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, April 15 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 at the funeral home.
